1. Welcome and Introductions

The meeting began at 7:00 PM. New board members were introduced, and residents were thanked for attending and continuing to support the community.

2. Finances

  • The board discussed the past year’s finances and shared documentation with attendees. (See our Financials Page for a copy)
  • The HOA website had been, prior to meeting, updated with all annual financials handed out at each annual meeting.
  • Time was dedicated to answering homeowner questions regarding finances in an effort to provide additional transparency.

3. Board Elections

Election results for the new HOA board term were announced.

  • Adam Parker was announced as President.
  • Jennifer Metzger was elected as Vice President.
  • Brian was announced as Treasurer.
  • The board currently remains without representation for the Secretary position and ARC Committee.

The board thanked outgoing members for their time, dedication, and service to the community.

4. Community Engagement & Events

  • Discussion took place regarding future neighborhood events.
  • After hearing feedback from homeowners, the Christmas event was noted as the community’s most successful event.
  • The board reviewed prior event feedback and discussed revisiting plans for future neighborhood gatherings.

5. Bylaws, Amendments & Community Concerns

  • Homeowners discussed the possibility of updating rules regarding basketball hoops, requesting they be allowed with certain restrictions in place.
  • Residents also discussed the desire to allow gutters on homes without requiring approval concerns or issues.
  • The topic of false or misleading statements regarding the HOA was brought up, along with discussion on how the board handles and addresses misinformation within the community.
  • The board was asked to present all avialable meeting minutes from the board inception. This and more informaiton has been uploaded to our website.
  • The board will revisit and review potential updates or amendments regarding these topics and encourages the community to email their requests for review to the Cottonwood POA email address.

No new rules were implemented at this meeting.
